What is archiv produktion?

Archiv Produktion is a classical music record label that was founded in 1948 by Deutsche Grammophon. The label is known for its focus on historically informed performances, particularly of Baroque music. Many of its recordings feature renowned conductors and performers, such as Nikolaus Harnoncourt, Gustav Leonhardt, and Christopher Hogwood. Archiv Produktion has released hundreds of albums, including recordings of works by Bach, Handel, Telemann, and Vivaldi. In 1999, the label merged with Deutsche Grammophon's sister label, Polydor, and it is now a part of the Universal Music Group.
